The Legendary 1938 & 1939 Carnegie Hall Concerts produced by John Hammond.  In 1938, John Hammond conceived a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City to showcase African-American music from its raw beginnings to the most current jazz.  From Spirituals To Swing was one of the first major concerts in Carnegie Hall starring African-American performers.
