Messages from Jess, Holly, & Marcus on “Go Home”:

Jess: “Go Home was one of the first songs we wrote for Wildewoman. Holly brought the original iteration of the song, drawing inspiration from Portishead—kind of moody, with electronic elements ... The following year we dug it back up and Danny and I tried a totally different approach. Sinking into a broken down half-time feel and together, with the lyrics, trying a melody that seemed to cry out of you.. a bit gut wrenching.. even playing around solely on acoustic guitar made the song come to life in a new way.”

Holly: “It ended up being the version that made it to the record and has remained a staple in our set ever since!"

Marcus: "Holly and Jess have been two of my favourite people to sing with in the world for quite a few years now. We have mostly been tiptoeing our way through Joni Mitchell backing vocal parts from opposite sides of the room, nervous not to fuck it up for everyone else, including Joni herself... But when we get the opportunity to blast, there`s very little that gives me more pleasure on stage than to foghorn my way through a Lucius tune, or ask the girls to belt on Kansas City or Awake My Soul in one of my solo sets. They are the greatest in the world at navigating vocal parts, so when they invited me in to re-record Go Home I launched myself at the opportunity. I have loved this song for a long time, and it was a dream come true to get to sing on it with the one and only Lucius girls.” ...
